Craniosacral Therapy

I am a certified craniosacral therapist. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on the subtle rhythms of the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Through light touch, a trained therapist listens to the body’s natural movement and uses soft techniques to release restrictions that can affect the nervous system, mobility, and overall well-being. It’s a deeply calming, restorative therapy that supports the body’s own ability to self-correct and heal.

CST can be especially beneficial for those dealing with persistent pain, tension, headaches, or TMJ dysfunction. Because the jaw, skull, and spine are all interconnected, restrictions in the craniosacral system can contribute to issues like jaw pain, clenching, and limited range of motion. By gently working with these areas, CST can ease pressure, improve alignment, and help rebalance the nervous system. Many patients report not only reduced pain and jaw tension, but also a sense of deep relaxation and renewed clarity — making it a powerful tool for healing from the inside out.

John Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR)

I am a certified JFB MFR therapist. John Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to release restrictions in the body’s fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. Over time, injury, stress, inflammation, or poor posture can cause the fascia to become tight or stuck, leading to pain, limited movement, and dysfunction that traditional treatments may not fully address. The John Barnes approach to MFR uses sustained, low-load pressure to soften and lengthen these restricted areas, promoting deep, lasting relief without forcing or overstretching the tissue.

Many patients seek Myofascial Release to help with chronic pain, tension, and conditions that haven’t responded well to other therapies — including TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction. Since the fascia connects throughout the entire body, restrictions in one area — like the jaw — can create tension patterns that affect other regions, including the neck, shoulders, and even the pelvic floor. MFR works to unwind these patterns at the source. For TMJ pain specifically, this technique can help reduce jaw tension, ease headaches, improve alignment, and restore comfort in speaking, chewing, and daily function. Patients often describe a sense of profound release and relief, both physically and emotionally, making MFR an empowering and holistic path toward healing.
